Dacre exits Ten Alps to launch own start-up

Former ITV News editor Nigel Dacre has left Bob Geldof’s indie Ten Alps, where he had been spearheading digital initiatives, reports C21 Media.

Dacre, who helped launch Teachers TV — the U.K.’s first truly multiplatform play — and latterly oversaw the development of nichecasting internet services Public TV, local government channel Kent TV, Vets TV and Peace Channel TV (expected to launch in 2008).

Dacre has already raised initial funding for Inclusive Digital, his own venture, which will offer and end-to-end service from video production to website management.

“The internet TV business is growing at a rapid pace, and I think the next 12 months will be crucial in the development of the sector,” Dacre said.
